I've been thinking a lot lately how nice and how much easier it would be to live closer to family, to have them only a phone call away, especially when your child is screaming his head off and doesn't even know what he wants. But then I'm quickly reminded how being in the military and moving around, your always surrounded by a family of friends; and I feel Mike and I are blessed with an AMAZING family of friends! Even though through the years they either get out, get stationed somewhere new, or we move we'll always have the memories and try to stay in touch as much as possible (I'm just being honest Life happens and you can't always remember to text, call, or "facebook"). But that doesn't mean that you don't think of them or have the memories you've made.
While I was pregnant with Noah I had two friends (Missy & Angela) who were 2 months ahead of me in their pregnancy. It was awesome! Being able to talk about what we were going through and know that we weren't alone! It was the first child for all 3 of us so none of us new what to expect. I mean we have friends who have kids and obviously know how it felt to be pregnant but it was a whole nother thing to actually be going through it with someone. And now all 3 of us have these amazing boys that we know are going to be like the 3 amigos going camping, to the lake, or even just hanging out at BBQ's playing in the dirt being boys, finding bugs, and getting into trouble. I know eventually we're going to get stationed somewhere new and not be around them anymore but for the time being we're going to have a blast! Then when we get stationed somewhere new we'll make new friends and make more memories!

Which is why yeah it's tough because Family is family you can't take that away, and no matter what you always want to be closest to them but when you can't be because your spouse is in the military you make friends who become like family. I wouldn't change a thing!
